Over the course of his career, Vishal Grover has headed a number of San Francisco businesses, including the SYSTIME Computer Corporation and the CMS Group of Companies. Outside of his work as a San Francisco business leader, Vishal Grover supports philanthropic groups such as WildAid. The elephant populations of West and Central Africa face a major crisis in the form of illegal ivory poaching and the international ivory trade. Each year, more than 33,000 elephants are killed for their ivory. This figure is expected to rise as ivory poachers migrate to East Africa as well as a number of southern regions. Individuals can join the fight against ivory poachers by taking the WildAid Ivory Free pledge. WildAid is an international nonprofit organization committed to protecting animal populations as diverse as sharks and pangolins. In addition to refraining from the purchase or use of ivory, the WildAid Ivory Free pledge urges individuals to promote awareness about the plight of the African elephant and to engage in political activities designed to curb the global ivory trade. Individuals can take the pledge at www.wildaid.org. Website visitors also can make donations to the WildAid elephant fund, or to any of the other WildAid programs.
